Fernworthy and Grey Wethers

Just to the right of Warren House Inn there is a path that ascends steeply up hill in a north-westerly direction. Follow this path to the massive King's Oven Cairn on Water Hill. From here head due north for about 1km on to Hurston Ridge. It can be easy to miss but if you stay on a due north course the double row should appear as you head down hill. At the lower end of the Hurston ridge double stone row head west a little and then return a to a due north course to meet the minor road that leads to the Fernworthy Reservoir. Around 50m east of the tree line and a short distance from the road is the Heath Stone. Near the main car park there are toilets and a picnic area. A short detour of 100m or so along the main path north east towards the damn are some impresive hut circle remains. If short on time leave these for the Warren House Inn: Kestor, Shovel Down & Scorhill Stone Circle walk.

Follow the road around Fernworthy reservoir to where it finishes in a small car park on the western side of Fernworthy Reservoir. From here take the main path heading west through Fernworthy Forest. A few hundred metres into the forest in a clearing on the right is Fernworthy Circle with associated stone rows. Continue on the main path through Fernworthy Forest back on to open moor land near Teignhead Farm. Follow the path south as marked on the OS map for 1.5km. A short distance over the wall is the Grey Wethers double stone circle.

From Grey Wethers head due south for 3km to Hartland Tor. The path heads east for a short distance take the right turn in a southwards direction to head into Postbridge.
