Dartmoor Site: Legis Tor Settlements

Legis Tor Settlements

This site is featured on the Burrator 3: Ringmoor, Brisworthy Circle and Legis Pound walk. These photos were taken at Legis Tor (SX56936527 Butler Vol. 3. Map 49, 2). The second and third photos are taken from the south of Legis Tor - Legis Pound and settlements can be clearly seen. Another interesting feature to look out for on the boundary of Legis Pound is a vermin trap - possibly not easy to find, I did not have time to locate it! The other photos are of tin workings in the area. The last photo is of a Northern Wheatear snapped whilst trying to photograph a passing Cuckoo! Legis Pound can be seen clearly on the satellite imaging from Google maps above.

These photos were taken on the 17th June 2010.
