Notes

"Small cairn lying approximately 60 metres to the north-north-east of the group of three cairns on the south slope of Whittor. Although severely altered it is certainly likely to have been a cairn. Surveyed in 2003." reported by Phil Newman in survey of 2003 .

Newman Cairn 5: Small cairn shown on the English Heritage survey of 2003 lying approximately 60 metres to the north-north-east of the group of three cairns on the south slope of Whittor. Although severely altered it is certainly likely to have been a cairn.

The grid reference on the HER is SX 5436 7843 which does not fit the feature photographed. However, looking at Newman's plan the location SX 54386 78481 is consistent with Cairn 5. So this is presumed a match and this record has had its grid reference updated to reflect.
