This is a holding page which will be developed over December & January winter 2022-23.
After some discussion with John Bainbridge who was the Chief Executive of the Dartmoor Preservation Association during the 1990s and early 2000s we have taken a decision to scan and make available some of the DPA pamphlets that were sent out as "part of public domain press releases" by John Bainbridge.
This is a not-for-profit project and by republishing this material we make no claim to copyright which remains with the authors. I'm trying to contact all authors involved but in the meantime I'm going to use "presumed consent". As I see it the original authors would want this material to be made public precisely becasue they wanted to defend Dartmoor. I will take material down if people with copyright claims object but I hope they would be delighted that people are interested and it can be seen again. Please contact me if you are a copyright owner and I have not yet been in touch to confirm your consent. This stuff in our view should be online especially given the ongoing dangers that Dartmoor faces!
We strongly encourage people interested in both archaeology and Dartmoor to support the DPA which continues to this day to do fabulous work to protect both Dartmoor and it's archaeological sites. Why not join or become a volunteer.
